Elyos or Asmodians: what matters for your choice?
NC’s official server and matchmaking notice says you choose a region, then a faction, then an available server. Each home server contains one faction. An Elyos server and an Asmodian server can be paired for cross-faction PvP; that pairing does not make them the same home server.

Agree on a region, faction and exact server
For a group planning to share a home world, send all three choices before anyone creates a character. “We are playing Elyos” leaves the region and server unresolved. A short message such as “Europe / Elyos / Siel” is much less ambiguous; it is a coordination example, not a recommendation for that server.
- Region: compare the region your friends will use with your own connection and usual play hours.
- Faction: confirm Elyos or Asmodians with the people you intend to join.
- Server: check the exact name in the current in-game list and confirm everyone can select it.
- If that server is unavailable: agree whether to wait or choose another home server together. Check transfer restrictions before treating a temporary choice as reversible.
NC’s transfer announcement says instanced content, including dungeons, is cross-server. That helps explain why a different home server and an unavailable dungeon group are different problems. The announcement does not describe every party invitation condition, so check the relevant activity in game rather than assume unrestricted grouping.
Server pairings affect PvP, and they can change
The matchmaking notice identifies Spacetime Rifts and the Abyss as places where opposing factions meet. NC says server pairings are temporary and will be updated periodically. A pairing you see today is therefore a current matchup, not a permanent reason to choose your faction.
Use the official regional server list when checking an opponent. This guide does not estimate faction populations, predict wins or rank servers from queue colors. For Taiwan and Korea schedule planning, the AION 2 rift timer shows community opening schedules; Global timing remains unavailable while its rules are unverified.
Do not rely on a transfer to change faction
If your character is Elyos and your friends choose Asmodians, the announced same-faction transfer plan does not solve that mismatch.
